Karsten
Four years ago, Karsten discovered laser engraving in an unexpected way—helping support his favorite country swing dancing venue through a difficult time. What started with engraving custom belt buckles quickly grew into a passion for the craft and eventually became his primary professional focus.
Karsten learned laser engraving hands-on, putting in countless hours mastering the equipment, refining his techniques, and learning how different materials, designs, and engraving processes respond to the laser. Today, he brings that experience to Utah Laser Engraving’s Murray location, creating custom engraving projects for customers throughout Murray, Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, and the surrounding communities.
With a background in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management from LDS Business College, Karsten combines technical experience with a strong creative eye and an understanding of what customers want from a truly custom project.
His specialty is custom design work, with styles ranging from traditional Western scrollwork and detailed belt buckle designs to modern artwork and completely one-of-a-kind creations. Whether you have finished artwork ready to engrave, a rough sketch, or simply an idea in your head, Karsten can help turn it into a design built specifically for your project.
